We are currently seeking a full-time Patient Admissions Specialist who is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patient referrals and oversee the admission process, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
  • Conduct initial evaluations to confirm that prospective patients meet the admission criteria.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the admissions process, providing preliminary approvals for both financial and clinical aspects.
  • Collaborate with supervisory staff to secure necessary authorizations for patient admissions.
  • Partner with the marketing team to facilitate appropriate placements for clients not admitted to our programs.
  • Assist the billing department in clarifying services and benefits to patients and their families.
  • Complete all required admission documentation efficiently.
  • Establish and maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Provide support to the Business Development Team as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and clinicians.
  • Relay essential patient information to the care team.
  • Coordinate with various departments for insurance verification and authorization processes.
  • Assess clients with mental health and substance use challenges, making informed recommendations for their care.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Fundamental understanding of mental health and psychiatric conditions.
  • Ability to work autonomously while effectively managing time and tasks.
  • Strong listening and conflict resolution skills, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including document creation in Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgment.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field is required.
  • Experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred.

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
