The Pathologists' Assistant is a qualified allied health professional who delivers anatomic pathology services under the guidance and oversight of a pathologist.

This role involves collaboration with pathologists similar to how physician assistants operate under the supervision of physicians in both surgical and medical settings.

The Pathologists' Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the overall productivity of the laboratory or pathology practice efficiently by undertaking a range of responsibilities, primarily focusing on the gross examination of surgical pathology specimens.

Position Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Mandatory:

Bachelor’s degree in biological or allied health sciences, completion of a NAACLS accredited Pathologists' Assistant program, and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.


LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/

OR REGISTRATION:

Mandatory:
Valid ASCP Certification.
