Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Wastewater Treatment System Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing skilled preventive repair and maintenance of stationary equipment and machinery in a wastewater treatment facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform skilled preventive repair and maintenance of stationary equipment and machinery
- Diagnose and repair a wide variety of mechanical equipment
- Read, interpret and work from repair manuals and specifications
- Use specialized tools and equipment
- Instruct apprentices in trade techniques
- Valid California Class C driver license
- Four years performing directly-related skilled maintenance or craft duties involving the repair and overhaul of a variety of comparable machinery and equipment
- Twelve semester units of college coursework or completion of one year of a two-year trade school in a mechanical technology or closely related program may be substituted for one year of the required experience
- Graduation from a two-year trade school in a mechanical technology or closely related program may be substituted for two years of the required experience
- Working hours are 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday
- After hour, overtime, and weekend callbacks will sometimes be required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Class A or B California driver license within six (6) months of appointment
- Must be medically cleared to wear a respiratory protection device and be able to pass a pulmonary function test annually
