Art Manager, Wearables

At Meta, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in augmented and virtual reality. As an Art Manager, Wearables, you'll play a critical role in shaping the visual identity of our wearable devices and software platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of 3D artists, concept artists, motion designers, technical artists, and art managers to deliver high-quality projects.
  • Develop and maintain visual systems and standards, ensuring consistency across our wearable devices and software platforms.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and engineering leadership to drive the success of our teams and define goals for key features.
  • Provide feedback and direction to the team to continually raise the innovation and quality bar.
  • Work with producers to drive an efficient and scalable process for the team.
  • Be a key contributor to the organization's product strategy.
  • Effectively share the team's product goals and connect related projects across the company to resolve problems or make joint decisions quickly.
  • Lead and oversee key projects from conception to launch in partnership with product design, product managers, and engineers.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Build an inclusive environment across the team, modeling inclusive behaviors.
Requirements:
  • Over 5+ years of experience managing full-time artists and 10+ years developing and launching projects for wearable technologies like VR/AR, with expertise in real-time rendering and a background in branding, design, or gaming, along with related experience in supporting and managing technical functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the development, maintenance, and documentation of 2D/3D art and animation pipelines and vendor-based asset creation.
  • Experience driving changes in operational processes and aligning teams to a strategic vision by solving conflicts and misalignments.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting, nurturing, and growing talent.
  • Experience with roadmapping and budget management.
  • Interest in supporting individual contributors and other managers to produce a collaborative environment, where individuals bring their best to produce effective results.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience shipping products and leading teams in the AR/VR or other industry.
  • Experience with generative AI tools and techniques, including prompt AI-assisted design.
  • Experience in Unreal, Unity, or other real-time applications.
