Position Summary


The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) oversees the comprehensive management of all operational activities, resources, and assets of New Mexico One Call, Inc. (NM811).

The CEO will operate under the strategic direction and policies set forth by the Corporation's Board of Directors. This role involves leading both staff and volunteers to deliver exceptional services while cultivating a professional environment for all stakeholders. The CEO ensures adherence to all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines. This position also involves preparing and delivering expert testimony before legislative and regulatory entities concerning damage prevention initiatives. The CEO supports various independent groups engaged in damage prevention efforts throughout New Mexico.

Required Qualifications:


A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, technology, or business administration, accompanied by at least ten years of relevant experience; or a comparable combination of education and experience in the relevant field.

A minimum of seven years in a managerial role is essential.

Demonstrated capability in formulating and implementing financial strategies is required.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience exceeding four years in areas such as accounting, finance, call center operations, damage prevention, utility construction, or engineering is advantageous.

Additional relevant education, certifications, or licenses are beneficial.

Experience in generating financial reports, audit documentation, and tax filings is preferred.

Familiarity with Caselle financial software is a plus.

Comprehensive understanding of industry best practices related to Damage Prevention, including facility locating, technical training, construction oversight, damage investigation, and safety regulations.

Profound knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and practices is essential.

Strong conflict resolution, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are crucial.


Capability to foster and maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, employees, and industry organizations while consistently projecting a professional demeanor.


Thorough understanding of corporate policies, New Mexico Excavation Law, and PRC regulations pertinent to the responsibilities of the role.

Ability to manage complex and non-standard project assignments effectively.

Proven ability to balance economic factors, customer needs, and corporate interests to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.


Ability to collect and synthesize data, analyze findings, and develop innovative solutions to challenges, as well as prepare written reports and presentations.

Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques.

Capability to prepare and oversee budgets to minimize costs while ensuring compliance with regulations and laws. Proficiency in presenting monthly financial reports to Corporate Leadership is required.

Understanding of methods and practices that enhance quality within the organization.

Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable but not mandatory.
