Overview:
The AI-Enhanced Tables division is dedicated to the automatic and intelligent arrangement of customer tables to optimize price-performance and usability. By examining customer usage patterns, we pinpoint the most critical tables. Subsequently, essential business data is co-located, indexed, and cached for optimal performance, while less frequently accessed data is archived and compressed to reduce costs. Importantly, all of this is executed within an open data lakehouse utilizing an open table format, avoiding proprietary storage limitations.
Strategic Importance:
This approach is vital for the success of Databricks. When implemented effectively, it will significantly transform the data and AI landscape, addressing the challenges customers face with complex configurations. Databricks is uniquely equipped to fulfill this vision, managing exabytes of data across over 10,000 clients.
Role Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire portfolio of AI-enhanced table solutions, including Predictive I/O, Predictive Optimization, Liquid Clustering, and future developments.
- Engage with leading customers to understand their configuration and tuning challenges.
- Establish a vision for leveraging AI to automate tedious tasks and collaborate closely with engineering teams to bring these features to fruition.
- Identify and resolve obstacles that hinder adoption.
- Work alongside marketing and field teams to effectively launch these capabilities.
Key Contributions:
- Shape the vision for AI-enhanced tables, ensuring customer data is efficient and user-friendly from the outset.
- Conduct in-depth customer research and data analysis to uncover significant AI optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with customers to gain insights into their data management challenges.
- Drive the adoption of AI-enhanced offerings by defining and pursuing key objectives, addressing barriers to adoption, and refining features to enhance appeal.
- Partner with engineering to define and deliver the next generation of AI-enhanced offerings.
- Lead product launches in collaboration with marketing through various channels such as blogs, release notes, webinars, and internal training.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or related fields, particularly with enterprise or SaaS products.
- Proven track record in launching new products and fostering their adoption.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Empathy for developers, with experience in developer-facing products.
- Strong skills in data analysis and operationalization (SQL & Python, rollups, building operational dashboards).

Compensation Transparency:
Zone 1 Pay Range: $115,400 — $204,200 USD
