Public Health Nurse II, Bureau of School Health

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse II to join the Bureau of School Health. As a Public Health Nurse II, you will be responsible for providing nursing services to students and staff in schools across the city.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide nursing services to students and staff in schools, including health assessments, immunizations, and treatment of illnesses and injuries.
- Develop and implement health education programs for students and staff on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the health and well-being of students and staff.
- Conduct health screenings and provide referrals for students and staff who require further medical attention.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student and staff health information.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Medical guidelines have been established for the position of Public Health Nurse. Candidates will be examined to determine whether they can perform the essential functions of the position of Public Health Nurse.
The Public Health Nurse II will work in a fast-paced environment, providing nursing services to students and staff in schools across the city. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
