Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Aide to provide exceptional care to our residents at Buckner Retirement Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering physical and emotional support, assistance with activities of daily living, and promoting the greatest functional level possible for our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the implementation of the prescribed healthcare plan, ensuring accurate and timely execution.
  • Conduct regular resident rounds to check their physical comfort, safety, and cleanliness, addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Provide safe and excellent services in care and treatment, including bathing, feeding, oral care, and other essential tasks.
  • Perform a range of cleaning and sanitary services, such as emptying and cleaning urinals, commodes, bedpans, showers, and wheelchairs.
  • Accurately document Activities for Daily Living (ADLs), intakes, and outputs, as well as other relevant information on resident charts.
  • Wake residents, assist with morning grooming, and move them to the dining room as needed.
  • Change soiled and unsoiled linen, distribute clean towels, and ensure resident safety by detecting and reporting potential hazards.
  • Observe and report resident reactions and changes in condition, taking and recording vital signs as required.
  • Safely lift and reposition residents as necessary.
  • Pick up meal trays and distribute snacks daily.
  • Encourage and participate in restorative measures, assist with activities, and intervene in resident disputes or disruptive behavior if necessary.
  • Perform other tasks in support of your team, including answering phones, assisting in the dining room, and working schedules and assignments as requested.
Requirements:
  • Current Texas Nurse Aide Certification
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Current Food Handler Certificate
  • Professional knowledge of basic healthcare practices and procedures, including infection control
  • Ability to instruct residents in healthcare measures and methods of improving medical services
  • Working knowledge of resident restraints as prescribed by physicians
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including bending, stooping, and lifting
  • Attention to detail is critical, as errors can have life-threatening consequences
  • Ability to exercise patience, tact, initiative, judgment, and confidentiality
  • Ability to recognize changes in a resident's appearance, attitude, and condition
  • Personality attuned to the needs of the infirm and aged, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year prior experience as a nursing assistant or equivalent training
  • Prior experience in customer service
