Clinical Admissions Coordinator

The Clinical Admissions Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating patient admissions to Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of clinical needs and the ability to provide crisis intervention. The ideal candidate will have experience in addiction/behavioral health and possess certifications such as CATC II or CADC II.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of potential patients to determine their clinical needs
• Provide crisis intervention and maintain communication with referral sources, families, and patients
• Collaborate with the Medical Director to facilitate admissions and educate staff on insurance information and reimbursement/billing issues
• Prepare written reports of pre-admission results and conduct group counseling sessions as needed
• Collect payments for copays and maintain accurate records
Requirements
• High School Graduate or equivalent required; Associate degree in Behavioral Science or Allied Mental Health preferred
• Two years minimum experience in addiction/behavioral health required; three years preferred
• Working knowledge of CARF and/or JCAHO accreditation standards required
• Knowledge of the 12-step, Smart Recovery, and other treatment models required
• Knowledge of HIPPA required
