We are seeking a skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at UCLA Health. As a key member of our Operating Room staff, you will assist anesthesiologists in preparing equipment for anesthesia administration, setting up invasive lines for patient monitoring, and performing various technical tasks.
Responsibilities- Assist anesthesiologists in preparing equipment for anesthesia administration
- Set up invasive lines for patient monitoring
- Perform cell saving procedures
- Set up Laser and Video equipment
- Troubleshoot OR equipment for clinical staff
- Perform clerical and coordinating duties as assigned by RN Charge Nurse
- High School Diploma required
- Two years of experience preferred
- BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
- ASATT certification required
- Competency in operating Laser, video, Endoscopy, and other major OR and monitoring equipment
- Ability to work in fast-paced and stressful environment
- Ability to prioritize own work to complete assigned tasks during shift
- Knowledge of infection control and Health Surveillance, OSHA, Universal Precautions, Waste Management, Handling of hazardous substances, and Medical Device Act
- Knowledge of the Mission and Philosophy of UCLA Health
- Knowledge of Patients' Bill of Rights
- Knowledge of AORN and AAMI Standards specific to areas of responsibility
- Knowledge of department policies and procedures
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the job relating to lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing 50 lbs or more, extensive walking, and standing
