Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at UCLA Health. As a key member of our Operating Room staff, you will assist anesthesiologists in preparing equipment for anesthesia administration, setting up invasive lines for patient monitoring, and performing various technical tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Assist anesthesiologists in preparing equipment for anesthesia administration
  • Set up invasive lines for patient monitoring
  • Perform cell saving procedures
  • Set up Laser and Video equipment
  • Troubleshoot OR equipment for clinical staff
  • Perform clerical and coordinating duties as assigned by RN Charge Nurse
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required
  • Two years of experience preferred
  • BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
  • ASATT certification required
  • Competency in operating Laser, video, Endoscopy, and other major OR and monitoring equipment
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and stressful environment
  • Ability to prioritize own work to complete assigned tasks during shift
  • Knowledge of infection control and Health Surveillance, OSHA, Universal Precautions, Waste Management, Handling of hazardous substances, and Medical Device Act
  • Knowledge of the Mission and Philosophy of UCLA Health
  • Knowledge of Patients' Bill of Rights
  • Knowledge of AORN and AAMI Standards specific to areas of responsibility
  • Knowledge of department policies and procedures
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job relating to lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing 50 lbs or more, extensive walking, and standing
