Job Overview:
Provide specialized knowledge in public health nutrition
Disseminate information regarding research outcomes and effective practices
Act as a liaison between state and national organizations and federal agencies that formulate national nutrition guidelines
Assist in the preparation of reports, plans, and other documentation related to nutrition programs and public health objectives, utilizing data, benchmarks, and measurable outcomes
Support the CDPHPD programs and offices in crafting public health messages that promote awareness of the advantages of proper nutrition and healthy eating habits
Offer insights on national prevention guidelines, current scientific findings, and trends concerning nutrition as a vital component of health and wellness
Provide information on effective and promising prevention strategies in nutrition for community and statewide initiatives
Assist in the coordination, planning, organization, facilitation, and evaluation of workgroups, presentations, workshops, symposiums, materials, and training focused on developing system changes, policies, and procedures related to nutrition programs and projects
Help establish and maintain partnerships with external lead agencies to enhance nutrition education initiatives.
Position Requirements:
Experience in policy, systems, or environmental changes within programs focused on healthy food access and nutrition
Experience in forming partnerships with key stakeholders in Hawaii involved in healthy food access initiatives
Experience in facilitating meetings with participants from diverse backgrounds, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions
Ability to comprehend and interpret federal nutrition guidelines
