Regional Program Specialist

The American Red Cross is seeking a dedicated Regional Program Specialist to join our team in the Pacific Islands region. As a key member of our Service to Armed Forces and International Services (SAF-IS) team, you will play a critical role in delivering our programs and services to meet the needs of United States military members, veterans, and their families.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position located in Oahu, with occasional travel to surrounding neighbor islands. As a Regional Program Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the delivery of SAF-IS programs and services to military installations and local communities within your regional jurisdiction.
- Recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers in the delivery of SAF-IS programs and services.
- Establishing and maintaining effective command relationships during deployment.
- Providing casework expertise and managing volunteers and other staff members during surge situations and disaster responses.
- Supporting Disaster Cycle Services as necessary in accordance with the DCS COOP SAF responsibilities.
- Maintaining deployment readiness at all times by completing medical requirements, clearance requirements, and ongoing training requirements.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, human resources management, community organization, social or health sciences, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of related experience.
- Strong computer skills, public speaking skills, and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in an individual or team environment.
- Flexibility to accommodate short notice assignments and long periods of time away from home.
