About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our team at Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania. As a key member of our preschool program, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 3-5 years old.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead preschool teacher in implementing educational programming, including Creative Curriculum, Arts, STEM, and social skill development.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all program participants, creating a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Conduct initial screening assessments for new students and work with volunteers, tutors, and students to improve education.
  • Implement Developmentally Appropriate Activities and provide a creative and exploratory learning environment.
  • Observe and report any maintenance and operation concerns to ensure Club member safety.
  • Attend training sessions and organizational meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and requirements.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in education or a related field, with 30 credit hours in early childhood education or a related field, and 3 years of experience working with children.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with youth and families.
  • Interest in various youth programs, including technology, art, sports, STEM, mentoring, and recreation.
  • Advanced customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clearances, certifications, and training requirements as specified by the organization.
