Role Overview

The Lead Cloud Solutions Architect will be instrumental in shaping the architecture of the Nasdaq Index Platform, ensuring that development platform engineering needs are met with precision. This role requires a blend of technical acumen and leadership skills, focusing on platform engineering and DevSecOps methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architectural Design: Develop and execute the AWS architecture for the Index Platform, aligning with organizational goals and industry standards.
  • Team Leadership: Guide the Index Architecture scrum team, offering technical mentorship and fostering professional growth among team members.
  • Platform Engineering: Spearhead platform engineering projects, utilizing GitLab and Terraform for continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with application teams to facilitate the deployment of serverless solutions on AWS, emphasizing scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Data Management: Leverage Databricks as the primary data platform, ensuring optimal data processing and analytical capabilities.
  • Architectural Principles: Promote and implement service-oriented architecture and domain-driven design across the platform.
  • Hands-On Development: Engage in coding and code reviews, primarily in Python, to foster innovation and uphold high-quality standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning and roadmap development for the technical advancement of the Index Platform.
  • Continuous Improvement: Cultivate a culture of ongoing enhancement, encouraging the integration of new technologies and methodologies to boost platform efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in platform engineering and DevSecOps, particularly with AWS serverless technologies.
  • Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code, especially with Terraform, and familiarity with GitLab for version control and CI/CD.
  • Expertise in Python programming and experience with service-oriented architecture and domain-driven design.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a proven track record of guiding technical teams and successfully managing complex projects.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A strategic mindset with a history of delivering architectural solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Experience with Databricks or similar data platforms.
  • Background in financial services or fintech sectors is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in AWS architecture or DevSecOps practices.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is an advantage.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in software architecture, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
