Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Drainage Project Engineer with over 5 years of relevant engineering experience, particularly within central Texas municipalities and private sector projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, develop comprehensive drainage studies and reports, including hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, designs, and drawings that meet client specifications and Project Manager directives.
  • Create engineering plan sets, specifications, and documentation packages in accordance with HKS standard operating procedures and relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on personal work and that of fellow designers to ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering plans.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of drainage engineering experience, with local expertise required.
  • Possession of a Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Extensive experience in designing grading and drainage plans, detention and water quality ponds, open channels, closed conduit storm sewer systems, stormwater management features, utility enhancements, pipe networks, and cross-sections and profiles.
  • Familiarity with Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling software such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, and CUHP.

  • A collaborative team player willing to contribute to a variety of projects and work alongside multiple Project Managers.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for timely information gathering and analysis.
  • Effective communication skills.

Salary Range:
