Electrical Controls Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Specialist to join our team at Samtec, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, repairing, and updating electrical controls and vision inspection systems in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Troubleshoot and repair automated controls
* Startup, debug, qualify, and support controls install/upgrade on new and existing automated equipment
* Make program and hardware modifications/updates on automated control systems
* Field wire panels and equipment and make updates to electrical schematics as needed
* Program motion controllers, PLCs, operator interfaces, robotics, and servo drives
* Support and maintain image processing hardware and programs using Windows-based PC systems
Requirements:
* Operational knowledge of control relays, pneumatic solenoids, pneumatic controls, motion controllers, servomotors, stepper motors, etc.
* 1-5 years of programming experience in PLC programming, operator interface programming, motion controllers, and PID loop controls
* Ability to read and write in structured text programming language
* Experience in building/servicing control panels
* Image processing systems and implementations
* Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
* AutoCAD or equivalent experience
* Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs
Education:
* Two year degree in Electrical Manufacturing, Robotic Technology, or related degree
Training:
* On the job training as appropriate
