Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Food Service Assistant to join our team at PeaceHealth. As a key member of our Nutrition Services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality food and exceptional customer service to our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, mix, assemble, portion, serve, and store food products in accordance with applicable guidelines and HACCP principles.
  • Operate dish machines, wash pots, and perform heavy cleaning duties while maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Transport equipment, food, supplies, and trash as directed, ensuring efficient and safe movement of materials.
  • Act as a cafeteria cashier, processing transactions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Set up and clean assigned stations, adhering to established guidelines and protocols.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in food service, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Food Handlers Card - Washington.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and interact with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent lifting, bending, and standing. You must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment and work near heated surfaces and water/liquid.
