Position Overview:

The Lead Metallurgy Engineer is instrumental in establishing critical fabrication criteria for selected materials. This role encompasses the supervision of processes such as forging, welding, heat treatment, corrosion assessment, and nondestructive testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Selection: Formulate and evaluate material choices for diverse projects.
  • Specification Analysis: Examine client specifications and technical drawings to guarantee appropriate material application.
  • Inspection Management: Scrutinize inspection protocols for equipment that involves specialized material requirements.
  • Issue Resolution: Coordinate initiatives to tackle challenges related to material processing, coating, and thermal treatment.
  • Titanium Processing Oversight: Supervise titanium processing activities, including melting, forging, and machining, collaborating closely with suppliers alongside procurement and project management teams.
  • Material Testing Coordination: Organize and assess material testing methodologies.
  • Deviation Oversight: Aid in addressing deviations in material and concession requests.
  • Data Evaluation: Analyze data to identify optimal solutions or propose necessary actions.
  • Vendor Engagement: Collaborate with the supply chain to identify and qualify vendors related to materials.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Execute other tasks as assigned.

Availability:

  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional modifications based on project and client requirements.

  • General understanding of welding, machining, and coating techniques.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, emphasizing organization and innovation.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and industry specifications.

Work Environment:

  • Mainly office-based, with occasional visits to the manufacturing area.
  • Limited travel may be necessary to support offsite personnel and business initiatives.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
  • The noise level is generally moderate, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical components.
