Position Overview

Job Title: Protestant Music Director

Location: Vance AFB Chapel

Travel: N/A

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the musical direction for the Protestant Services.
  • Facilitate at least one rehearsal and one worship service weekly, guiding the praise team and congregation.
  • Enhance and maintain the music library, ensuring a diverse selection of songs for worship.
  • Collaborate with the Chaplain or their representative to coordinate all music program support needs.
  • Assist in the development of the music program's annual calendar, budget planning, and volunteer training initiatives.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers involved in the music ministry.
  • Ensure the proper setup, maintenance, and security of facilities used for music-related events.
  • Perform music that aligns with the religious nature of the Protestant Service.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in music or a minimum of four years' experience in directing and performing for worship services, focusing on Gospel and Contemporary Christian music.
  • At least one year of college education in music or a related field, or equivalent experience in a church setting.
  • Commitment to the fundamental beliefs of the Protestant Christian faith.
  • Ability to vocally lead and engage the congregation in worship.
  • Proficiency in playing either guitar or piano.
  • Capability to plan, organize, and lead a Protestant-style praise team.
  • Experience in performing music suitable for a Contemporary Protestant worship service.
