Job Summary

MK Services in Middleton, MA is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Setup/Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce high-quality precision parts for aerospace and defense applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Setup: Set up CNC lathe machines according to specifications and blueprints, install and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine controls, and perform first-piece inspections to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Operation: Operate CNC lathe machines to produce parts as per production schedules, monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance, troubleshoot and resolve machine issues promptly, and keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, ensure parts meet all specifications and quality standards, and document inspection results and maintain records.
  • Safety: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, technical certification in CNC machining or related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC lathe setup and operation, experience in aerospace and defense manufacturing is a plus.
  • Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, strong understanding of CNC programming and machine controls, ability to use precision measuring instruments, excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, and good communication and teamwork skills.
