We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Programmer to join our team at The Slabe Machine Products, Co. in Middleton, MA. As a CNC Lathe Programmer, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for lathe machines to produce precision components for aerospace, defense, and medical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Create and optimize CNC programs using Master Cam software to produce complex components for aerospace, defense, and medical applications.
  • Technical Drawings: Interpret and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining operations and sequences.
  • Tool Selection: Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job, considering machine capabilities and part specifications.
  • Setup and Testing: Set up CNC lathe machines, perform test runs, and make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet quality and tolerance standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, machinists, and quality control teams to resolve issues and improve machining processes.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, machine setups, and modifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in CNC programming and machining technologies to enhance production efficiency and quality.
  • Compliance: Ensure all machining operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree in CNC programming, machine tool technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC lathe programming, preferably in the aerospace, defense, or medical industries.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Master Cam software and other CAD/CAM tools.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and quality control standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize machining operations.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
