Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement social services programs that meet the needs of our patients and residents, including planning, organizing, and directing the Social Service Department.
  • Collaborate with administration, medical and nursing staff, and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of social services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community health, welfare, and social agencies to ensure access to resources and services for our patients and residents.
  • Recruit, select, and train competent department personnel to ensure the delivery of high-quality social services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as professional standards.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of departmental performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in community planning and development of social services programs to meet the needs of our patients and residents.
  • Ensure that all social services programs are delivered in a manner that respects the rights and dignity of our patients and residents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an approved school of Social Work.
  • Non-encumbered State License to practice Social Work.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a Long Term Care or hospital setting.
  • Any combination of experience and training that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Working Conditions

The Social Services Director will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients, residents, families, and staff.
