Job Summary

Baton Rouge General is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing routine and special clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens, correlating and interpreting data, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various laboratory diagnostic tests on patient specimens, including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
  • Correlate and interpret test results, identifying any abnormalities or discrepancies.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, and supplies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate test results.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement new procedures and protocols to improve laboratory efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
  • Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist – General license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
