About the Role

This critical role requires a strategic thinker who can design and implement effective talent programs and initiatives focused on performance management and manager effectiveness. As a key member of our team, you will partner closely with departmental leadership and the Director of People Business Partnership to develop scalable and effective talent strategies based on departmental needs and business priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to business leaders, helping design and implement effective talent strategies to address team engagement, retention, leadership development, internal mobility, and organizational growth.
  • Negotiate and resolve lower-level employee-relations conflicts that may lead to disciplinary action; balancing what is best for the team member, manager, department, and company.
  • Partner with People Operations and Legal Team to balance compliance requirements with agile, creative, and flexible solutions that successfully accommodate business needs and manage acceptable risk.

Talent Growth Strategy
  • Design effective talent and people strategies and coach leaders to implement them with their teams. Some of these will be pilot programs to evaluate impact and effectiveness, others will include more cyclical people programs and initiatives, including: talent planning for growth and scale, professional development activities for current and rising people leaders, engagement action planning, compensation reviews, and incentive programs.
  • Support with the implementation of Hazel's performance management framework, building more opportunities for both macro and micro feedback for managers and team leaders.
  • Develop and deliver toolkits, interactive resources, and communication materials for leaders to drive understanding, consistency, and adoption of talent programs.

Requirements
  • You have 6+ years experience as a People Partner, Talent Management Manager, or equivalent role for a rapidly growing organization, with direct experience engaging with multiple levels of leadership within a company. Experience in high-growth environments is a plus.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to build and deliver large-scale people programs that support business objectives, particularly with respect to talent and performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and/or engagement.
  • You can build strong, trusted partnerships with senior leaders; quickly deciphering what their priorities are, what motivates them, and what barriers may exist in which they need support mitigating or resolving from a talent and performance lens.
  • You come with a history of building consensus, coaching, and guiding managers and leaders and navigating diverse personalities and perspectives through change.
  • You have excellent data-analytics skills, with the ability to differentiate trends and patterns from anecdotes, and turn insights into actionable strategies.
  • You have exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with experience creating training content and guiding leaders through complex talent processes.
  • You have a high acumen for complex problem-solving and are adept at collaborating with strong business judgment.
