Job Title: Senior HVAC Service Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician to join our team at MSS Solutions, LLC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our commercial HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist senior HVAC technicians in performing routine maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance contracts to ensure optimal system performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex HVAC issues, including electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks, such as replacing filters and belts, and identify potential issues with HVAC equipment.
  • Log and document HVAC equipment performance, including refrigerant circuit, electrical circuit, and equipment condition.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of commercial HVAC systems, including DX equipment, intake/exhaust fans, split systems, and heat pumps.
  • Communicate effectively with team leads, coordination staff, sales staff, and customers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Complete equipment log sheets and upload them into our database for project managers.
  • Meet or exceed performance metrics, including minimal call-backs and timely completion of tasks.
  • Adhere to basic safe work practices and company policies.
Requirements:
  • Universal EPA certification
  • Ability to understand mechanical drawings and equipment specifications
  • Expert ability to troubleshoot complex high and low-voltage electrical systems and read wiring schematics
  • Thorough understanding of various equipment, including large unitary packaged equipment, SWUD units, VRF, basic air-cooled chillers, semi-hermetic compressors, dehumidification equipment, complex specialty equipment, air handlers, simple boilers, cooling towers, water pumps, valves, actuators, and VFDs
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all components of the above equipment
  • Complete understanding of sequence of operation and control strategies for the above equipment
  • Thorough understanding of airflow for variable air volume systems and duct design
  • Understanding of DDC control components and pneumatic systems
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding basic refrigerant cycle, various heating components, and air distribution systems
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues in laymen's terms
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Must successfully pass a background check
