Client Overview:
We work with a range of service providers to ensure culturally sensitive and disability-competent care is offered. Our client's mission is to help individuals live happy, healthy, and independent lives. They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registration Specialist to join their team in achieving this mission.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$20 - $23/hr
Job Description:
This full-time position is based in New York and is ideal for someone compassionate, articulate, and detail-oriented. As the Registration Specialist, you will play a crucial role in guiding individuals through the enrollment process, ensuring they understand their program, and providing ongoing support in self-directed services. Responsibilities include:
- Following up on referrals for participant-directed services
- Assisting individuals and employers in completing necessary documentation for program enrollment
- Educating participants on how to interact with the fiscal intermediary, including timesheet completion and provider enrollment
- Identifying and resolving barriers to timely enrollment and ensuring the process is smooth and efficient
- Collaborating with Case Managers and service providers to ensure timely approval and authorization of services
- Conducting in-home visits to participants as needed
- Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely enrollment and first payments to providers
- Providing ongoing person-centered education and support to participants, including navigating program rules and financial management systems
- Offering training on identifying and reporting fraud, abuse, neglect, and exploitation
- Maintaining accurate documentation of services provided and time spent in accordance with policies
- Updating participant and provider information in internal systems and managing enrollment status
- Working with the Enrollment Supervisor to meet service level expectations and ensure timely processing
Qualifications:
- Fluent in English and an additional language (Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Italian, French, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong customer service experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and web-based applications
- Ability to assess processes and make recommendations for improvement
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- A minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or aging adults
- Must be able to travel (20% of time) to office location in Genesee County, NY
