Job Title: Teacher, Severely Disabled

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Teacher, Severely Disabled to join our team at Madera County Superintendent of Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing individualized education plans for students with severe disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate students with severe disabilities to identify their strengths and areas of need.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans that address the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide instruction and support to students with severe disabilities in a variety of settings, including the classroom and community.
  • Collaborate with other educators, related service providers, and parents to ensure that students receive a comprehensive and coordinated education.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet the changing needs of each student.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.

Requirements:

  • Valid California teaching credential authorizing specialized services to students with severe disabilities.
  • Experience working with students with severe disabilities, preferably in a special education setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a focus on providing high-quality instruction and support to students.

Working Conditions:

The Teacher, Severely Disabled will work in a variety of settings, including the classroom and community. The position requires the ability to lift or manipulate students with assistance, if necessary, and to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
