Special Education Teacher

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Madera County Superintendent of Schools. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with severe disabilities. You will work closely with students, parents, and other educators to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs for students with severe disabilities
- Provide individualized instruction and support to students in a classroom setting
- Collaborate with parents and other educators to create a comprehensive support plan for each student
- Assess and evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and productive learning environment
Requirements:
- Valid California teaching credential authorizing specialized services to the identified student population
- Experience working with students with severe disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with parents and other educators
- Knowledge of California State Academic Standards and special education laws and regulations
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced classroom environment and to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. The successful candidate must be able to lift or manipulate children with assistance, if necessary, and to work in a variety of settings, including classrooms and special education facilities.
