This is a union position at Prototypes S. Mark Taper Family Living Center, a 32-unit apartment complex that shares a campus with Prototypes Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program and Prototypes Outpatient Program. The Housing Program at S. Mark Taper Family Living Center serves women and women with children with Substance Abuse and Mental Health Disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct rounds during shifts to ensure units are clean and clients are safe.
- Reinforce curfew and other program procedures.
- Supervise clients and children during all assigned shifts.
- Oversee clients' independent living skills (cooking, cleaning, meal planning, shopping, etc.).
- Provide follow-up to staff to ensure clients are moving toward goals as per service support plan.
- Support clients when dealing with interpersonal conflicts with others.
- Conduct/participate in House Meeting to support clients and promote a safe and amicable environment in the units.
- Encourage clients to be engaged in program and program demands.
- Engage in conversation with Housing Supervisor for consultation if needed.
- Monitor medication.
- Create, complete, review, and file SAM-L sheets.
- Verify, refill, review, and file Sign-In Sheets and Visitor Logs.
- Ensure office is kept clean and organized and bathroom is properly stocked with supplies.
- Control the inventory for program (linens, food, office items, etc.).
- Document client records and upload medical records in Welligent.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years' experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting preferred.
- Basic understanding of child development, child abuse, substance abuse, and self-sufficiency issues.
- Experience working with substance abusers, chronically homeless, and/or reentry populations.
- Experience with efficient and effective treatment and management of clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Knowledge of and experience providing trauma-informed care, housing first principles, and harm reduction services.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data.
- Must not be on active parole or probation for at least two years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain satisfactory background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CDCR live scan clearance.
- Must be able to pass health screening and TB test requirements.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including booster shot. Medical or religious exemptions not available.
