This position is responsible for overseeing the daily performance of service providers to ensure high-quality service, improve performance, and maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will encourage sales lead participation through building and maintaining mutually beneficial customer relationships. This role supervises others within the department and works with service providers to maximize day-to-day proficiency and ensure packages are delivered in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:- Administrative Tasks: Completes administrative tasks, such as performance reviews, accident reports, service failures, and training, in a timely and accurate manner to facilitate the execution of the dispatch plan through the Service Providers.
- On-Job Supervision: Completes required audits during on-job supervision rides to ensure adherence to UPS policies and procedures.
- Performance Improvement: Utilizes technology, such as Orion, PAS, and Telematics, to identify opportunities for performance improvement and risk mitigation.
- Customer Communication: Communicates with customers to respond to service concerns, build relationships, and determines solutions that meet business goals.
- Business Development: Uncovers business opportunities and forwards this information to the proper department for follow-up.
- Service Provider Development: Encourages service providers to identify and forward volume development opportunities to management.
- Customer Focused Work Environment: Creates a customer-focused work environment to emphasize service and focus on building the business.
- Employee Communication: Communicates customers' business needs to employees to provide an understanding of job responsibilities and how actions impact customers.
- Local Requirements: Meets local age and license requirements.
- Availability: Availability to work flexible hours.
- Business Needs Assessment: Demonstrates a general understanding of ways to identify and measure the current needs of the customer or business.
- Health and Safety Knowledge: Demonstrates basic knowledge of injury and crash prevention techniques.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Demonstrates a basic understanding of the functions, regulations, and procedures of compliance agencies or governing bodies.
