Nurse Supervisor

The Registered Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the delivery of nursing services to residents on a designated unit. This role involves providing direct care, administering treatments and medications, and supervising direct care staff to ensure the highest quality of care.
Duties and Essential Functions- Make daily rounds on assigned units to observe, examine, or interview residents, and to verify information from ongoing shifts to monitor regulatory compliance.
- Develop and distribute resident care assignments to direct care staff, matching resident needs with staff skills and adjusting assignments as necessary.
- Direct daily assignments and evaluate the work of other caregivers, making recommendations on resident care, discipline, discharge, and promotion.
- Provide orientation to unit and unit routines to new team members.
- Minimum requirement: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current, active RN license in the State of Kentucky.
- Preferred qualifications: One year of experience providing direct care to residents in a long-term care setting.
The Registered Nurse Supervisor will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with exposure to blood or other body fluids, fumes, or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The role requires the ability to work in a 24-hour residential care environment with variable involvement of medical staff and exposure to stressors such as shift rotation, weekend and holiday duty, and unusual or impaired behavior by residents.
Physical Demands- Occasionally required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand and walk, operate a computer and other equipment, and use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices.
- Occasionally required to lift objects of 10 to 25 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds.
