Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Testing Field Engineer to join our team at M.C. Dean, Inc. This role will involve installing, maintaining, and repairing protective relaying and metering systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program and operate test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results
  • Analyze test results and interpret electrical diagrams to identify defective equipment
  • Install, maintain, and repair protective relaying and metering systems
  • Coordinate testing, troubleshooting, and repairs with other department personnel
  • Perform maintenance on and testing of relays and associated equipment
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace components involved in questionable operations and failures
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% - 50% of the time
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, Power DB, and Smartsheet experience is a plus
  • 4-6 years of experience OR Associate's degree and 2-4 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience in a related field
Abilities
  • Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time
  • Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis
  • Possesses good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English
Working Conditions

Works both indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures, including heat, cold, humidity, temperature swings, and inclement weather. Frequent exposure to dust, odor, electrical, mechanical, loud noise, and toxic hazards.

Operates hand tools, heavy equipment, light trucks, and power tools. 20/20 corrected vision is required to perform visual inspection of small defects, small parts, and operation of measurement devices and assembly of fabricated parts.

May be required to work after-hours, weekends, and holidays and respond timely to urgent or emergency situations.

Certifications (desired/advantageous): NETA level III, or IV preferred.
