Your role will be pivotal in addressing IT service challenges, conducting routine system performance evaluations, performing regular system maintenance, troubleshooting network issues, and overseeing system administration tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze trends in system challenges and propose effective solutions to recurring issues.
- Collaborate with senior System Engineers to improve server monitoring, resolve SaaS-related challenges, and manage patching for Windows servers, ESXi hosts, and Cisco devices.
- Oversee daily and nightly operations, including system and database backups, while addressing any outstanding issues.
- Coordinate system modifications on production servers as necessary.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across various layers (hardware, network, applications, database, storage) and assist fellow system engineers in resolving advanced problems.
- Work closely with the storage administration team and regularly test storage replication between sites. Document essential processes, including data snapshots, disaster recovery replication, and storage failover procedures.
- Leverage AWS services such as IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, ECS/EKS, Migration Services, and Beanstalk to deliver highly available, secure, and reliable solutions.
Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of experience in a production data center environment.
- 7+ years of expertise in Microsoft technologies (Windows Server 2008R2, Active Directory, DNS, Windows Clustering).
- 4+ years of experience with server virtualization using VMware and familiarity with server monitoring tools and scripting languages (Powershell, Perl, etc.).
- Proficient in AWS services such as IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, ECS/EKS, Migration Services, and Beanstalk, ensuring the delivery of highly available, secure, and reliable services.
- Ability to contribute positively to our core values: We Before Me, Positive Energy, Knowledge Explorer, and Own It.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with MS SQL Server, SQL Performance Analysis, and MS Windows Performance Monitoring and Analysis.
- Familiarity with High-Performance Storage Subsystems (e.g., 3PAR, Netapp, etc.).
- Understanding of network technologies, including VLAN, HTTP(S), SSL/TLS, SFTP, and Load-balancers.
