Insurance Examiner

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Insurance Examiner to join our team at the State of Connecticut. As an Insurance Examiner, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity of the insurance industry by conducting thorough examinations of insurance companies to determine compliance with state laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct examinations of insurance companies to assess compliance with state laws and regulations.
- Review financial statements, policies, and other relevant documents to evaluate company solvency and financial stability.
- Identify and analyze potential risks and issues within insurance companies' operations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement examination plans.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting findings and recommendations.
- Participate in meetings with insurance company representatives to discuss examination results.
- 6 years of experience in the insurance industry or governmental regulation of the insurance industry.
- 2 years of experience at the paraprofessional level.
- College training may be substituted for experience.
- Preferred qualifications include experience or coursework in audits and risk principles, reading and analyzing information, writing reports, and teamwork and collaboration.
