Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Demolition and Crane Operations Inspector. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of mechanical and explosive demolition procedures, crane operations and maintenance, and relevant state laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field inspections of demolition sites to ensure conformance with state codes and regulations.
  • Check for certification and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide technical assistance to local officials and assist them in enforcing demolition codes and regulations.
  • Investigate complaints and gather information to write detailed reports.
  • Testify at hearings and in court as necessary.
  • Administer the crane operation licensing program, including reviewing applications, conducting written examinations, and evaluating practical examinations for crane operators.
  • Inspect work sites for crane operator licenses and investigate accidents involving cranes that result in bodily injury or substantial monetary damage.
  • Collaborate with federal OSHA agents to investigate accidents and gather information.
  • Assign and review the work of clerical staff to ensure flawless execution of administrative tasks.
Requirements
  • Five (5) years of experience as a supervisor for a large demolition company or as a certified Class A demolition contractor, including extensive experience in crane operations.
  • A crane operator's license may be substituted for the experience in crane operations only.
  • Preferred qualifications include a CT licensed Crane Operator, Class A Demolition Contractor, experience with computer software including E-License, and knowledge of Crane & Demolition Statutes.
