Job Description

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Execute a variety of fundamental operational and maintenance tasks essential for ensuring the safe and reliable functioning of water treatment and distribution facilities, while adhering to state and federal regulations.
  • Perform routine cleaning and general housekeeping tasks in work and plant areas as assigned, including but not limited to sweeping, dusting, mopping, and painting.
  • Conduct outdoor maintenance activities for the water distribution system, including the operation and testing of valves, hydrants, meters, and related equipment.
  • Follow standard operating procedures under the direct supervision of experienced personnel.
  • Be available to work a predetermined weekend shift and participate in emergency call-out rotations with fellow employees.
  • Learn and adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Complete scheduled shifts as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in the water treatment sector.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to comprehend and execute written and/or verbal work orders and assignments.
  • Capability to perform basic mathematical calculations using a calculator.
  • Fundamental knowledge of chemistry, mathematical principles, and hydraulics is required.
  • Proficiency in utilizing a CMMS system to schedule and complete work orders.
  • Skill in properly collecting water quality samples, testing, and maintaining collection records.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • A valid Driver's license is mandatory.
