About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Lecturer of Data Science to join our faculty at Georgia College & State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in data science, computer science, and math, as well as contributing to the development of our data science program.

Responsibilities
  • Teach data mining, data analysis, machine learning, big data analysis, statistical computing in data science, and other courses for CS and DS majors.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for data science courses.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of our data science program.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, such as research and publication.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • At least 18 semester graduate credit hours within the teaching discipline of data science/computer science/math.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate DS classes and experience teaching CS classes or statistics.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • Experience working in the data science, computer science, or statistics field.
  • Knowledge of Python, Java, and additional programming languages.
