Job Summary

Library Services at Lamar State College Port Arthur operates a 60 hour - 5 day a week schedule, with shifts available from 7:30am - 7:30pm Monday - Thursday and 7:30am - 5:00pm Friday. As a Student Assistant, you will be utilizing library software to facilitate circulation transactions, sorting and processing mail and book drop deliveries, re-shelving and stack maintenance. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize library software to facilitate circulation transactions
  • Sort and process mail and book drop deliveries
  • Re-shelve and maintain library stacks
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Student status is required
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six hours during a long semester
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • Limited to working no more than 19 hours per week
Working Conditions

Library Services operates in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. As a Student Assistant, you will be working in a team environment with other library staff and students. You will be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
