The Catering Coordinator is responsible for managing and implementing all catering requests for the designated store. This role plays a vital part in supporting the regional Prepared Foods strategy. All positions at Whole Foods Market Retail are expected to uphold a positive company image by delivering courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members consistently. Each role must be performed in alignment with team and store Standard Operating Procedures. Team Members should be ready to undertake responsibilities associated with other roles as needed. The aim is to uphold WFM core values and objectives, advocate for national, regional, and store initiatives, and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including Food Safety and departmental regulatory responsibilities.Key Responsibilities
- Processes catering requests via phone and in-person interactions.
- Organizes and coordinates delivery logistics for catering orders.
- Collaborates with various teams to verify orders and ensure precision.
- Records all catering transactions and maintains accurate sales documentation.
- Manages inventory related to catering supplies.
- Plans and executes catering showcases on the sales floor.
- Arrives punctually at the work station, appropriately attired and prepared for the day; fulfills all scheduled shifts and participates in required training and meetings.
- Delivers exceptional customer service, promptly addressing customer needs and demonstrating effective selling techniques; answers calls and pages in a timely and courteous manner.
- Enhances sales potential through proper procedures for preparing, storing, rotating, stocking, and displaying products.
- Adheres to established protocols, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work and shopping environment; ensures equipment is kept in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
- Completes opening, mid, and closing tasks as assigned; verifies accuracy of signage and pricing.
- Immediately reports any safety hazards or violations.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to address customer needs promptly and effectively.
- Strong product knowledge.
- Willingness to learn about products, nutritional information, and other relevant areas.
- Working knowledge of all Prepared Foods merchandising standards.
- Basic math skills.
- Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player.
- Ability to convey information clearly and respectfully to Team Members, customers, and vendors.
- Capability to meet customer service expectations in all interactions.
- Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organizational skills.

- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of and adherence to WFM quality standards.
- 14+ months of experience in a retail environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- In an 8-hour workday: standing/walking for 6-8 hours.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Work involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning agents.
- Exposure to varying temperatures: below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in both wet and dry conditions.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other machinery.
- May require the use of ladders.
