Job Summary

Summary: Assist the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking food, coordinating kitchen activities, and supervising food-service associates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cook and prepare food according to approved recipes and production standards, ensuring timely completion of production orders.
  • Supervise hourly food-service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action as needed.
  • Store food in designated areas, adhering to corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures.
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, cleaning workstations thoroughly before leaving the area.
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner, relaying relevant information to the supervisor.
  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers.
  • Keep up with peak production and service hours, monitoring inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, and tracking product production, consumption, and waste.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
