Job Overview

Compensation: $19.41 per hour

Status: Open Position

This role operates under the guidance of the Warehouse Foreperson and/or the Warehouse Manager. Key responsibilities encompass receiving, inspecting, documenting, cataloging, stocking, locating, and distributing warehouse inventory. The employee is also tasked with transporting materials and maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse yard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately receives and logs all incoming supplies, ensuring proper entry into the inventory management system. This includes verifying purchase orders, quantities, manufacturers, vendors, and receipt dates.
  • Documents any discrepancies from the original order and communicates these to the foreperson. Records and inputs quantities received on partial purchase orders into the inventory system, noting the date of receipt.
  • Transmits receiving data to the central computer system and ensures all identification tags and labels are accurately recorded.
  • Ensures that all receiving information and related documentation, such as purchase orders and packing lists, are forwarded to management for vendor payment processing.
  • Responsible for documenting any defective materials received and managing the rejection of incorrect deliveries.
  • Coordinates the notification and delivery of non-stock items to the relevant department, ensuring all paperwork is properly completed.
  • Prepares and organizes materials for pickup and moves them to the staging area as necessary.
  • Reviews and verifies all job order documentation for accuracy, informing the Foreperson of any changes or omissions.
  • Monitors the accuracy of all information related to items being processed.
  • Maintains vendor files to ensure all purchase orders are reconciled and stored correctly.
  • Conducts checks on all equipment, including label makers, scanners, and other tools, to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Calculates storage areas and capacities for various materials to optimize warehouse space.
  • Provides relevant departments with information regarding current inventory levels, status of special orders, and material availability.
  • Responds to requests for materials during emergencies and is required to be on-call for urgent situations.
  • Assists the Warehouse Manager and Foreperson during annual inventory audits.
  • Performs routine equipment checks and reports any malfunctions to the Foreperson.
  • Ensures the proper operation of security systems and performs maintenance as needed.
  • May temporarily assume Foreperson duties during absences or emergencies.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED with proficiency in reading, writing, and basic mathematics.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a warehouse setting, with familiarity in inventory management systems.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and measurements accurately.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents and manuals.
  • Certification in mobile crane operations is required.
  • Experience operating various types of forklifts and cranes.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff and the public.
  • Must be physically fit, capable of lifting heavy loads, and able to perform tasks that require climbing and reaching.
