Job Summary:

We are seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach accounting and finance courses at Texas A&M University-Commerce. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent teaching skills, and the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach up to six semester credit hours of accounting and finance courses, including introductory and advanced courses.
  • Develop and manage course syllabi, ensuring alignment with department and college standards.
  • Plan and deliver lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments that promote student learning and engagement.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback on assignments and exams.
  • Assist students with academic and professional development, as needed.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives to improve teaching and learning.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance from an AACSB-accredited institution, or a combination of graduate degrees in accounting or finance from an AACSB-accredited program.
  • At least 18 hours of graduate-level accounting or finance coursework.
  • Two years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a public firm, industry, or government entity.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • One or more of the following professional designations: CPA, CFE, CIA, CMA, EA, or CFF.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current relevant professional credentials.
  • College or university teaching experience.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Prior relevant industry experience.
  • Online or hybrid teaching experience.
  • Experience engaging students with synchronous and asynchronous communication in an online learning environment.
