Job Title: Bronx and Uptown Organizer

Transportation Alternatives (TA) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced organizer to lead our campaigns and work in the Bronx and Uptown Manhattan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advocacy and grassroots organizing, with a deep understanding of the Bronx and Uptown Manhattan communities and political landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute campaign strategy to advance TA's work in the Bronx and Uptown Manhattan
  • Build and maintain relationships with community members, community partners, and other organizations
  • Recruit and manage a team of local activists to support campaign efforts
  • Track and report on campaign progress and outcomes
Requirements:
  • At least two years of experience in organizing or campaigning, with a strong background in advocacy and/or grassroots organizing
  • Knowledge of the Bronx and Uptown Manhattan communities and political landscape
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet goals and deadlines
  • Lived experience or demonstrated professional skills working with racially and economically diverse individuals and communities
  • Strong communication skills, including writing and public speaking
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual, with a strong preference for Spanish speakers
  • Experience with using social media platforms for organizing
  • Familiarity with online platforms such as EveryAction, CallHub, Mobilize, and Canva
