Tenant Organizer

Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation (NMIC) is seeking a highly motivated Tenant Organizer to join our team. As a key member of our community development team, you will work closely with tenants, community leaders, and our interdisciplinary organizing, legal, and social services team to develop and implement comprehensive anti-displacement plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist tenants in forming and strengthening tenant associations and coalitions in the Bronx and Washington Heights/Inwood/Harlem.
- Schedule and coordinate regular tenant association meetings and work with members to develop agendas.
- Organize tenant leadership development and Know Your Rights trainings.
- Respond to individual tenant issues and connect them with NMIC services for resolution.
- Collaborate with attorneys to address tenant concerns with management.
- Collect documentation required by funding sources.
Requirements
- BS/BA with tenant organizing experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently and efficiently on multiple tasks.
- Spanish/English proficiency required, but fluency is strongly preferred.
