Job Overview

The Lead Measurement Specialist will be responsible for supporting inspection activities at Fathom Mfg, collaborating with our Quality Management Systems as needed.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct visual and dimensional mechanical inspections adhering to quality industry standards while maintaining best safety practices.
  • Promote collaboration with external vendors for outsourcing quality inspections.
  • Interpret and apply knowledge of engineering-level mechanical drawings.
  • Develop and implement accept/reject criteria and revision status from engineering drawings.
  • Conduct first article and final inspections ensuring compliance to specifications in fast-paced environments.
  • Document non-conformances, initiate corrective actions, and notify relevant personnel.
  • Complete reports, logs, and accurately input data into the quality database.
  • Achieve inspection-related tasks aligned with customer requirements, quality department directives, or upper management.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Nurture effective working relationships with all manufacturing departments.
  • Maintain regular work schedules and participate in team member training and internal audits.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Familiarity with inspection equipment mandatory.
  • Print reading and GD&T expertise essential.
  • CMM Programming experience necessary.
  • Associate degree in a relevant field or technical certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe.
  • Bonus skills include familiarity with CAD software (Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks) and both metric and imperial unit systems.
  • Working knowledge of measuring tools/equipment, e.g., caliper, micrometer.
  • ASQ Certification advantageous.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • English language proficiency required.
Compensation

$30-$40 per hour.
