Job Title: Technical Marketing Applications Specialist

HarbisonWalker International is seeking an experienced Technical Marketing Applications Specialist to join our team in a hybrid role at our corporate office in Moon, PA.

About the Role

This challenging role provides technical expertise, training, and support for our refractory products and applications. As a Technical Marketing Applications Specialist, you will promote the use of HarbisonWalker International refractory products and support customer relationships through your expert product knowledge and technical advice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be an expert on HarbisonWalker International's products and applications, providing technical advice and support to solve customer inquiries, problems, and needs.
  • Develop and execute market growth strategies within your areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with internal R&D department on complaint investigations and failure analysis to ensure information sharing and goal alignment.
  • Perform analysis of complex application needs and propose, alter, or refine/define lining designs and installation methods in support of customer business needs.
  • Develop business cases for new product development and create, execute, and track new product launch plans.
  • Create and execute product promotions and technical marketing strategies, maintaining expert knowledge on industry trends, training opportunities, and forecasts.
  • Perform market analysis and assist in product portfolio analysis that aligns with market segment plan initiatives.
  • Assist in product rationalization, product portfolio modifications, and shape standardization.
Requirements
  • Requires a B.S. degree in Engineering, Ceramics, Metallurgy, Chemical, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • The Technical Marketing Applications Specialist requires four (4) to six (6) years of experience in refractory technical marketing, research, quality assurance, or sales.
  • Requires knowledge of refractory products, installation methods, construction skills, and customer applications.
  • Requires computer operation skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel and PowerPoint expertise.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including presentation planning and delivery skills, and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Requires the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Requires strong analytical, strategic thinking, and business problem-solving skills.
  • Requires project management skills and the ability to coordinate multi-department projects.
