Position Overview
As a Culinary Banquet Specialist, you will be responsible for presenting food in an appealing manner based on the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and creating visually attractive food displays. Your role includes preparing special meals or alternative items and assisting with banquet plate-ups. You will communicate any required assistance during peak periods to the Chef and ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of food.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food and served portions.
2. Prepare and present food according to established recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
3. Set up and manage action stations for banquets or buffets, including carving meats as requested by guests.
4. Maintain adequate stock levels of all items to support banquet and buffet operations.
5. Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers to prepare food.
6. Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
7. Assist management in various functions, including hiring, training, scheduling, and motivating team members.
Safety and Standards
Follow all company policies and safety procedures, reporting any maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions to management. Ensure that your uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, protecting company assets. Collaborate with your team to achieve common goals and adhere to quality expectations.
Physical Requirements
Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach overhead and below the knees; move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
Related Work Experience:
Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
Supervisory Experience:
No supervisory experience required.
License or Certification:
None required.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.30 to $32.30 per hour, with benefits including healthcare, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, life insurance, and disability coverage. Benefits are subject to eligibility and other requirements.
