Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in the clinical aspects of patient care within the correctional environment. Working collaboratively with the healthcare team and law enforcement, the LPN participates in delivering high-quality care to patients. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Health Services Administrator (HSA), Mid-Level Provider, Physician, or administrative supervision of the Health Services Coordinator (HSC), the LPN is responsible for providing quality care and responding to the unique needs of the correctional setting.

Maintaining the highest standards of nursing ethics and adhering to applicable State Board of Nursing and accrediting agency regulations, the LPN is an integral part of the healthcare team. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing principles, with the ability to adapt to the dynamic environment of a correctional facility.

Job Qualifications
  • Graduate from a nationally or state-approved school of nursing program
  • Current licensure to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of employment
  • American Heart Association BLS certification
  • Corrections experience is highly valued
