Radiologic Technologist

At DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic radiological exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
- Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure appropriateness of exams or procedures.
- Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors.
- Explain procedures to patients, including potential side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives.
- Set up equipment and acquire images as per script, reviewing and documenting exceptions from established protocols.
- Communicate data to radiologists and recognize/respond to medical emergencies as needed.
- Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients and participate in process improvement activities within radiology practice.
- Offer imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees, and be available to take call/standby as required by the department.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training required.
- Strong analytical and clinical skills, with ability to work effectively in a complex environment and handle multiple/changing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work with diverse hospital personnel and patients.
- Technical knowledge of equipment operation, including specialized equipment and computers.
- Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate and utilize x-ray equipment and supplies.
