The Henrico Education Foundation (HEF) is instrumental in creating and executing exceptional programming for students enrolled in Henrico County Public Schools.
Our mission is to enhance the educational achievements and overall well-being of the youth in our community.
The Program Administrator will oversee the Learning & Discovery Afterschool Program at Nuckols Farm Elementary School, ensuring a supportive, secure, and enriching atmosphere, in alignment with the Henrico Education Foundation's objectives, policies, and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the Learning & Discovery afterschool Program, and summer initiatives, if applicable, which includes enforcing policies and procedures, program development, marketing the program, executing the program, recruiting and training personnel, assessing risks, and conducting continuous program evaluations.
Administer and distribute programming surveys as required.
Maintain accurate attendance records in Eleyo.
Provide student lists and headcounts to the Cafeteria Manager.
Administer medication to students when necessary.
Conduct monthly fire drills and shelter-in-place exercises twice a year (fall and spring).
Ensure compliance with all governmental, local, and Henrico Education Foundation regulations, policies, guidelines, and standards for summer and afterschool programs.
Prepare for and participate in monitoring and licensing inspections.
Engage directly in program delivery at designated sites.
Foster and maintain positive relationships with Henrico County Public Schools (including principals, administration, and teachers), ensuring prompt and professional communication, appropriate use of facilities, and effective collaboration.
Respond to inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
Act as the onsite liaison for vendors.
Interpret, communicate, and advocate for the Henrico Education Foundation's mission, goals, and objectives to employees and the community.
Collaborate with organizations that share the Henrico Education Foundation's mission to address the needs of community children and families, including the FACE department, CIS, and school PTA programs.
Work with school staff to intentionally connect out-of-school time programs with the school day and other educational goals and initiatives.
Partner with the Program Coordinator to ensure adequate staffing ratios.
Maintain accurate records on students (including allergies, medications, etc.).
Ensure the program operates within a fiscally responsible framework, adhering to standard budgets.
Support Henrico Education Foundation initiatives to achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Meet the qualifications of Program Director as outlined in the Virginia Regulations for Licensed Child Day Centers (must possess at least one of the following):
A graduate degree in a child-related field such as elementary education, nursing, or recreation from an accredited institution, along with six months of relevant experience.
An endorsement or bachelor's degree in a child-related field such as elementary education, nursing, or recreation from an accredited institution, plus one year of relevant experience.
Forty-eight semester hours or 72 quarter hours of college credit from an accredited institution, with 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours in child-related subjects, along with one year of relevant experience.
Experience working with students.
Experience in a licensed childcare environment.
Behavior management experience and the ability to train others in effective strategies.
Strong relationship-building skills.
Dependable team player.
Knowledge of youth development principles related to academic and social growth.
At least 21 years of age with reliable transportation and a proven record of dependability.

Hourly Rate:
$23-$26/hr; 23-29 hours/week
